My Favorite Tom Hanks Movies - Sleepless In Seattle

I suppose Sleepless In Seattle really falls into the "chick flick" genre of romantic movies, but I have to admit that I am a guy and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Sleepless In Seattle is one of those stories that has believable characters going against the odds to find true love and to make it work.

In this case it's cute youngster Ross Malinger who plays the part of Tom Hanks's son, trying to find his widowed Dad a new wife and Mom.  After his wife's death, Tom moves with his son from Chicago to Seattle to begin a new life, but almost 2 years later, he is still grieving for her and his son is becoming increasingly concerned.

In desperation the son calls in to a radio chat show, and has listeners enthralled as he explains how much he would like his Dad to find a new wife.  Amongst the listeners is Meg Ryan, who is a writer from Baltimore, who takes it on herself to find out who this man and his son are, and I will leave the story there for you to watch and find out for yourself how things turn out.

This is classic Tom Hanks in the second of three movies that he has made with Meg Ryan. The first was Joe Versus The Volcano 1990 and then following this one You've Got Mail in 1998.  Sleepless In Seattle has some great moments and it's a great movie for the family to watch. Girls you might want to have a box of tissues handy, but as you might expect, all ends well.
